What is the RGA?

What is the RGA?

The RGA is a self-help charity providing and sharing information and support for people with restricted growth conditions and their families. The Association aims to help reduce the distress and disadvantages of persons with restricted growth by trying to:

  • Reduce social barriers

  • Improve quality of life

  • Enhance the role in society of persons of restricted growth

  • Lessen the fear and distress of families when a child with restricted growth is born

  • Provide fellowship, mutual support and encouragement for individuals and their families

  • Further self-fulfilment and independence
RGA tries to provide:
  • Medical advice, welfare and counseling services

  • Support of our regional coordinators

  • Contact with others and the sharing of information through the RGA news, advisory booklets, meetings, social events and conventions

  • Information resources on clothing, employment, mobility and home Aids

Objectives of RGA:

  • To provide information and support to improve the quality of life for persons of restricted growth

  • To encourage and support the complete integration of people of restricted growth within the wider community

  • To provide information and support to help lessen the fear and distress of families when a child of restricted growth is diagnosed

  • To promote wider public awareness for increased understanding of restricted growth

  • To promote research into matters related to restricted growth
