My daughter Hope (20 months old) has Achondroplasia. She is the middle of three sisters and the only one with restricted growth.

The company I work for in the UK, Trek Bicycles (an American bicycle manufacturer) annually raises money for a selected charity during National Bike Week (ride to work week) http://www.bikeweek.org.uk/. We use this to raise awareness of how useful and fun bicycles can be as well as do something worthwhile for others with the use of bicycles. Over the last couple of years we have supported both local and National Charities: Downs Syndrome, Willen Hospice, and Puzzle Preschool. This year I would like to raise some money for the Restricted Growth Association.
Every year quite a few of our employees (we have 50 in the UK) pledge to cycle miles (to and from work) as well as other fun events and get sponsored for the week. We always try to encourage people who either haven’t cycled recently or don’t regularly ride to get out and enjoy themselves during that week. In the past the UK has raised money through these pledges and our Parent company has matched whatever we collected and doubled it. His year we are extending it out to our Customers (independent bicycle retailers) and encourage them to organise their own events and to hopefully add to the collection towards our Nominated Charity (RGA).
We hope to organise events throughout the country to get more people out on their bikes. As we are based in Milton Keynes we will be organising a fun, family leisure bicycle ride during one of the weekend of National Bike Week.
